The Venue for ESC 2000 in Sweden

The Globe Arena was built in record time. The entire construction took less than two and a half years and the arena was inaugurated on February 19, 1989. The Globe Arena is the world's largest spherical building and its unique shape has made it a symbol of Stockholm and Sweden.

Globe Arena - interior view Events follow each other at a high tempo and The Globe Arena is quick to follow suit. At short notice, the arena can be converted from an ice rink into a dressage ring. The Globe Arena welcomes a million visitors per year, spread out over 130 event days. The attendance record was set at Bruce Springsteen's concert on June 17, 1992, when 16,337 fans were present.

The Globe Arena is the venue for big, exciting events. Two ice hockey world championships have been held here and the Pope has held a Catholic mass here. The Arena also hosted Sweden's King Carl Gustaf fiftieth birthday celebration. as well as world class artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Tina Turner and Luciano Pavarotti.

The Globe Arena has a diameter of 110 meters, with an inside height of 85 meters and a volume of 600,000 cubic meters.

Conferences: up to 4,500 people
